Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in leading production operations teams in mission-critical environments.
- Experience and understanding of best practices in information security from both an
infrastructure and process perspective.
- Experience in leading incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity
processes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Unix Shell.
- Experience with CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VLAN, VPN, HTTP(S), and SSH.
- Good understanding of Apache HTTPd, Red Hat Linux, Windows 2012/2016 server.
- Solid knowledge of Oracle Cloud and/or AWS.
- Familiarity with Citrix XenApp and related technologies.
- Understanding of Java J2EE applications, JVM tuning, JConsole, JMX, and other Java tools.
- Knowledge of IBM MQ and other JMS services is a plus.
- Familiarity with Oracle and PostgreSQL is a plus.
- Good knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong client-facing communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the continuous 24x7 management of critical client infrastructure, including handling security and downtime incidents, conducting disaster recovery and business continuity exercises (both real and simulated), and conducting thorough incident postmortems that drive tangible improvements.
- Collaborate with senior operations and engineering staff to design, implement, and manage a cloud infrastructure that ensures top-notch security, functionality, scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain automated monitoring and reporting systems for the cloud infrastructure, measuring it against client and internal SLAs and KPIs.
- Create and manage management dashboards, regional reports, and executive review documents that contribute to business outcomes and strive for operational excellence.
- Act as a technical escalation point for critical production issues and facilitate the escalation and resolution of problems with support and engineering teams.
- Assume responsibility as the operations representative and foster strong working relationships with senior technical employees and management of clients.
- Recruit, manage, and mentor a globally distributed operations team to deliver exceptional services to the company's clients.
- Ensure strict adherence to Employer's information security policies and procedures.
- Implement continuous review and improvement of Employer's industry-standard DevOps policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to ensure that the platform and infrastructure meet the technical and business requirements of the customers.
- Promote a culture of "security first" and continuous improvement.
