Android mobile developer

Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the entire Android mobile application lifecycle (concept, design, coding, testing, debugging, release, support and documentation).
- Integrate with our existing backend services and possibly create new services to support mobile applications and design interfaces.
- Make architecture recommendations and provide guidance and expertise on designing product solutions to work with mobile devices.
- Analyze, support and resolve application performance problems to address mobile device capacity, limitations and performance.
- Provide routine performance optimization, improvements and bug fixes.
- Be the mobile lead for Android including design, QA, and development.
- Work in an Agile environment, delivering features quickly and iteratively.
- Commit to continuous learning and skills development.
- Bring an innovative team spirit and a strong work ethic.
- Build out automated test and build pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Build and maintain mobile applications to interact with our API's.

Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience with Android development, (Java/Kotlin)
- Expert knowledge of Android mobile apps publishing process, UX design patterns and development best practices.
- Expert knowledge consuming REST APIs, working with JSON.
- Experience with SQLite, caching data and efficiently loading data for use.
- Experience with AndroidStudio/IntelliJ, Ticketing systems (Jira or AzureDevops, etc)
- Demonstrated success shipping at least one mobile app.
- Strong knowledge in performance tools and optimization techniques.
- Strong knowledge of DI pattern and experience with Dagger or Hilt
- Initial unit testing of features in native mobile apps after they are developed.
- University degree in Computer Science, or College diploma in Computer Programming, Information Technologies or a related discipline.

Nice to have but not the focus of this role:
- Some familiarity using iOS (swift), React development would be an asset, as we have another product this app will be based on – so reading other code is helpful.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
